A Message from the Principal of Smith Elementary 

Welcome to BJ Smith Elementary!

It is truly an honor to serve as the principal of BJ Smith Elementary and to welcome you to the Smith family. Thank you for trusting us with your greatest gift—your child.

I believe there is no greater work than helping children discover who they are and who they can become. At Smith, we believe children learn best when they feel safe, known, loved, and challenged to grow. My hope is that every child who walks through our doors knows they belong here, that they matter, and that there are people here who believe in them.

We want Smith to be a place where kindness is modeled, curiosity is encouraged, mistakes become opportunities to learn, and students are empowered to take ownership of their learning. We will celebrate their successes, support them through challenges, and continue to hold high expectations because we believe in what every child is capable of achieving.

We also know we cannot do this work alone. The strongest schools are built through meaningful partnerships between home and school. Our families are not simply supporters of our work—they are our partners. We are committed to listening, communicating openly, and working alongside you to create the very best educational experience for your child.
